Illustrator & printmaker Josie Jo creates a stunning branding & window display for haberdashery store Stitch...
My home town of Seaford isn't regarded as the most stylish town on the south cost but there is something rather exciting happening here.... over the last 5 years we have had little boutique cafes and shops begin to appear and the demographic of the town evolve with the priced out Britonians who have drifted over to this sleepy little spot.
Inevitably with these sorts of changes comes a new style, and new way of thinking and a new approach to business! Stitch in Seaford is a fantastic little haberdashery and they have employed the talented Josie Jo to create this awesome new branding & shop frontage for their Seaford store!
Josie is a fairly established commercial illustrators with a huge list of big name clients but she has never done anything quite on this scale...
"The project was a steep learning curve as I had to learn Illustrator to make my drawn line work vector so it could be cut out by machinery. Towards the end of the project I was asked to do an additional window panel and so I drew another drawing specifically for this space, the way of drawing differed after learning what had translated successfully l in Illustrator and as a result I think this is one of the most striking vinyl cuts. It was such a phenomenal project to be involved with, seeing my little drawings spring from the paper to become large format window graphics was a real privilege."
