We love Wakehurst, whatever the time of year...
So after over a week of being house bound with various winter ailments (don't you just love this time of year!) we all needed some fresh air. So off to Wakehurst we headed!
We love it at Wakehurst, if your not familiar with it and live in the Sussex area I urge you to visit. Expect beautiful gardens, full of extraordinary species of flora and fauna. Rivers, streams and lakes, ancient woodlands and to top it all off a father yummy restaurant!
They often have activities and events for families to get involved in which are great fun too!
We were gutted that we didn't manage to get tickets for Glow Wild this year - Wakehursts annual lantern festival - its absolutely extraordinary! So seeing all the lanterns in the day was really interesting, and honestly they are equally as beautiful as when lit up in the dark!
Noah was fascinated with the structures used to make the animals. He had an oportunity at my mums open house last year, to build a star lantern with the brilliant Michelle Martin-Dufaur who makes many of the structures at Glow Wild, so he understands how complex and hard to make they are!
Noah & Fin had a great time spotting birds, and the fish was a huge hit!! Oh and of course Fin discovered the wonders of splashing in muddy puddles! or Puggles as he calls them!! Oh to be two years old again!!
I love days out like these. Just romping around in muddy puddles, breathing in the winter air and playing with the boys.
